I'm off to see the sea

Mom and dad decided to go and visit the 'sea' at the spur of moment. So we left on 31 October (Halloween) after mommy was finished work and headed for the hills. Here's a pic of my outfit mom made for me that day - yes, I was a bit embarrassed.

Well, the hills were the last part that I saw. I remember stopping at a big petrol station for some snacks and dinner before catching a doze. I woke up the next morning sniffing some air which was a bit fresher than what I am used to.

Here I am giving dad a lecture about dragging sand into the house. Does he not realise that I need to crawl on those floors. Its hurts my knees. If anything it gives me more motivation to stand up and try to walk. I am nearly one already you know.

Oh man, that sand is so cool. Too bad the weather did not play the game because I think I would have dug to be out there more often.

Painting painting everywhere

Oh yeah, you can see how big I am now. Look I'm even painting, yet I still don't know if art is for me. There are times when I just like to prance around in my outfits that everyone buys for me. Anyway I guess I have a long time to decide. I think dad would prefer I become one of the first female F1 drivers.
Dad's blowing 'bubbles.' I like these things. They are like little floaty mysteries form the sky that I can't catch. When I try they pop. There's one attacking my eye in the picture below.

An update from a big girl now

I must admit that I have been slack, but you know, I’ve been too busy growing, cutting teeth and crawling.

This crawling thing for starters is great. It really keeps mom and dad on their toes. The one minute I’m in the lounge and the next in the kitchen. It does dirty, my clothes a lot. I know this because mom is always moaning about doing washing for me, but I am just a kid. Maybe one day when she shows me how to operate the washing machine I’ll help her. I can work a computer after all; I think she just needs to have a little more faith in me.

I mentioned teeth earlier, check out this pic dad took of me, you can see them there. There are just two teeth but hey they help me bite my mango a bit better – dad still doesn’t want to give me any steak.
Lastly in this update, because I can hear mom has finished with her bath, hopefully dad will soon buy mom her own laptop so she can also sometimes help me update my site.

Anyway, bye for now.

Long time

I know it's inexcusable, but with my waking in the night again and generally permanent eating habits, I've been a little busy.

Quick update then on the last month that was:

  • I've passed six months, almost eight months now.
  • Weight is uncertain at the moment, but if I had to guess myself I would say it's about 8.5kg to 9.0kg
  • I discovered the pleasure of raspberries...you know, those noises you make when you stick your tongue between your lips and blow out air...and spit onto your mom and dad's faces. Very funny.
  • I roll. Most times I roll with mom in her car, but I can actually roll, like from left to right while I'm lying on the ground. Mom thinks this is very clever - better I don't tell her about the blog yet as I don't want her to expect too much from me.
  • Its cold in Johannesburg - My fist winter. This time last year I was in mom's tummy still and it was warm.
  • Mom found her cabbage patch doll, which she wanted to give to me, but it smells a bit manky - we are going to have to buy another then.

So, now that I'm back in the swing of things, keeping mom and dad awake at night, lets see if I can update this a little in the wee hours of the morning when they are asleep. I need to sneak mom's camera away to get some new photies. In the mean time here are some from dad.

Rock on guys

What's up homies

Sjoe-wee, its been a while and I've been a busy girl. Luckily I have some time on my side so to give you a quick update it's damn cold here. So cold, no word of a lie that, dad can't buy mom a birthday present because he had to get me a heater and humidifier instead. I think she's cool with that though, because sleep is a much better reward than a present anyway.

It's been busy and mom turns 30 this weekend so she's had to run around and arrange all of that. I get to chill with granna sometimes though, which is cool too. I'm getting bigger though and I think these teeth are coming soon. Rosy cheeks and itchy gums hmmmm. Also, my eyes have yet to go brown so blue it is then. I wonder where that comes from. I'm too afraid to ask mom since dad'd eyes are brown :)
This is me and cousin Camryn, we were chilling with the ladies this day while they scrapbooked.

Ready me my ship captain..

...I'm going to catch me some pirates!

Not really, but thought I might as well give you an update since I've been chilling at home with mom this week. We went through to the clinic to visit my nurse. She weighed me and I tipped the scales at 7.4kgs so I guess I'm doing quite nicely on the weight front. Bring on that Tyson guy, and I'll show him heavyweight.

Otherwise I have so say I'm digging my butternut and porridge. It beats having to suck down all your food. At least this stuff I can, and do, spit out. Mom doesn't seem so chuffed when I get it on my clothes or the couch, but I'm sure she'll soon get over it.

The weekend we have out uncle Ook's birthday. Theme is Funky Golf and I think I'm too small to dress like Tiger so I hope dad doesn't dress me like a golf ball.

Dad's been messing around with that darn camera again. Not bad picture though, now he needs to just get me onto the cover of a magazine for my fifteen minutes of fame.

Solids, well sort of

Mom and dad have been moaning at me because I've been a bit slack at updating my blog. Mom says something about sleeping too much and keeping her busy. I will update more regularly though to keep you guys in the loop.

So I started eating solids recently. I think mom just calls then solids they don't come in a bottle, but I'm pretty sure mom could suck it through a straw. Anyway, at least they're a little tastier than that milk mom gives me. She still does, but now half way through the morning and afternoon I get a mixture of porridge and butternut or porridge and apple. Not helluva exciting, but then I am still getting a taste for things. One thing I do know is that it makes one hell of a mess. This whole spoon into mouth, swallow thing still has me a bit baffled., but as with my blog I will get better at it.

I'm just over five months now, have no idea of my current weight, but dad was complaining that he weights like 90 or something so is now hitting the gym in the morning. I felt a bit sorry, so I'm letting him and mom sleep through now. I'll give them a chance before I wake them again in the night, for now I'm quite enjoying the long rests. Collio, over and out form me. New update to follow shortly.

Easter Hunt - now with pictures, thanks dad

Easter was an eventful day. It was my first Easter too, so I was still trying to figure out how a bunny fits into the whole scope of things since which chickens did he steal the eggs from and why are the eggs made of this sweet stuff that mom usually finds in my nappy? I guess these questions will all be answered in the years to come so I will update you when I find out, perhaps shed light on this for one of life's greatest mysteries.

Anyway, I ate one of these eggs, and wow they're pretty cool; can't say I think that it would be that tasty with bacon on Saturday morning, but dad eats them all the time so maybe it's not just a breakfast thing. I think I could get used to this. Here's the sequence of events on Easter, as you can see I was clearly very keen to get my mitts on those eggs. Mom spoiled the fun before I even got to eat it, but at least I could wipe all of that browny goodness on my lips.

Maltese Monstrosity

Oops dad has been really slack at downloading the pictures from his camera. I asked him a couple of times, but there is some lame excuse about being busy. No excuse is a good excuse I told him so here we go. As I mentioned just before Easter, the weather was pretty bad. Cold. Mom has this strange fetish for fluffy things with ears. Put them on me and I look like a pink dyed maltese poodle with googly eyes. See for yourself. Granted, it's warm, but heck I want some Baby GAP, if one of you see her soon, tell her to get with the programme.

I'm also tipping the scales quite nicely for an almost five month old, don't know the exact weight but you can see it in my thighs :-(

Easter bunny

Hey yo so mom and dad tell me the bunny we saw in Westcliff will be popping around to all of our houses tomorrow to deliver some eggs. How a bunny gets eggs I will never know, but anyway I'll play along with dad who made this cake tonight. I think he's a little batty. Maybe I'l give him another chance before telling mom to take him to a psych. Weirdo. Anyway, I'm glad it's slightly warmer because I'm getting tired of mom dressing me up so I look like a a maltese poodle...albeit a warm one. I'l post some pics tomorrow. At the same time we've got an egg hunt on. If i manage to nick dad's phone I may even post live updates. Need to close an eye quick, mom thinks I'm asleep.

I'm a Cover Model

Sorry about the sideways picture (which I've fixed now - clever huh?), I borrowed dad's phone to post this post and I'm not quite sure how to flip it. But I digress a bit, the point of this post is to show you my new modelling pose. That's right, I know mom's not keen but you should see me get my modelling on - I might be poised for greatness and see magazine covers in my future...Living and Loving, Your Baby, you know how I roll. So yup, we'll keep this one brief again, when dad's laptop is charged I'l pop up some other pics. Rock on.

I remeber King Kong, the boxer

Yup, its official I've got thunder thighs. Mom and dad say that it's okay to put on weight while I'm young like this so I guess it doesn't matter so much. At weigh in today I tipped the scales at 6.6kg. That's right people, heavy weight divisional champ. Bring on Tyson and while I'm so hungry I'll bite his ear off...okay, gum it maybe...but when I get teeth it will be another story.

This, for those of you that don't know is pretty good because I had a bit of a wobbly in the beginning from the whooping cough - whoop whoop - which took me ages (three weeks to be exact) to put on 300g. Now I think I pile on that amount in one week.

So ja, quick update form me then, I'll check in with y'all this weekend. Look at how big I've got, here mom dressed me like Cadbury's Speckled Egg.

Ruling the Roost

Ja, so I have a bit of catching up to do. Four months flies pretty quickly when you have a dirty bum (you see what I did there?)

Dad dug out a pic of me when I had a bit of any identity crisis. Yup, never mind that my light eyes have mom and dad worried as to how their strong brown genes never made their way to my eyes, but there was a time where I had a nice golden baked yellow skin. Though my eyes were not slits, mom was worried I may be Chinese. Luckily it was just some jaundice, but sadly the colour hung around long enough that Aunty M coined the name Chicken for me. It's stuck and she has even bought me Chicken Licken, the book. Oh well. It works both ways though, because now I call her 'aughh ahguu gleeeegh' which is baby speak for "Aunty Hen." Justice.

A couple of hours on the sunbed sorted that out though, so now I'm cool. no mistaking me now.
Ahh geez another bottle. I'm developing some bad ass thighs, but more about that later, time to eat again.

An Introduction

Hello all. So I guess a little introduction is in order first.

Well, I've been around for a little over four months now so I apologise for being so slow to start and update my blog. If mom and dad were just a little more up to speed on technology I'd have done this sooner. They're speedbumps in my progress at the moment.

Thy have quite a strict regimen for me with sleep and eating so to be honest I don't get a lot of time to myself. I guess I've always been a bit of a stubbon little bugger because mom tells me I arrived three weeks ahead of my due date. It was cramped in there man, what is one to do?

Ja, so anyway got a bit of whooping cough in the early days - whoop whoop - which mom and dad didn't find so funny. I'm better now though. I think mom's a feeder cause she's forever shoving a bottle in my mouth. I usually drink it because I dont want her to feel bad... Ooh here comes another bottle so I'll continue this later.
